How to make a stainless steel sculpture

In recent years, stainless steel sculptures have become more and more popular, and many public places and outdoor landscapes have chosen to use stainless steel sculptures. It has extremely high durability and can withstand the test of various climates and environments. It can be exposed to the sun, rain, snow and other natural environment for a long time to still maintain the original beauty and shape. On the other hand, the surface of the stainless steel sculpture is smooth and bright, showing a sense of modernity and science and technology. The surface of the stainless steel sculpture is not susceptible to pollution and corrosion, so it is very convenient in daily maintenance. Simply clean with water or detergent to keep the surface smooth and beautiful. At the same time, stainless steel sculptures can be designed in various shapes and styles according to the requirements of designers, so that each sculpture has a unique artistic charm.

Give you a list of the production process of stainless steel sculpture, I hope to help you choose stainless steel sculpture.

1.Determine sculpture details

There is no special difference between stainless steel sculpture and other types of sculpture in the production process. Of course, it is first necessary to confirm the corresponding picture with the customer who has the customization needs, and ensure that the picture cannot be completed at once. It requires the designer to carry out professional analysis in the computer, enlarge it to the required sculpture height in a reasonable and coordinated proportion, and analyze whether the shape presented can meet the requirements of different angles from different angles, and finally set the sample in the computer.

After the drawing design is complete, both the manufacturer and the customizer need to further proofread the drawing of the model, and some details need to be discussed. Once the drawings are finalized, it is necessary to conduct further optimization reviews with the sculptor before production can be truly confirmed.

2.Mold making

According to the proportion of amplification to make a one-to-one mold tire, used for reverse mold making sculpture mold. The mold is divided into two kinds of mud mold, that is, mud draft and foam. The mold mold is repeatedly modified and confirmed according to the production drawings to meet the requirements and then turned into a more rigid mold.

3.Prepare materials

According to the characteristics of the mold, the different parts of the mold are divided into a number of small pieces, and labeled, cut the sample after the label, and paste the paper on the mold, cut the sample paper according to the size of the open piece and label it, and open the material according to the sample paper. Usually, the tool used is electric scissors, which can cut less than 2mm of paper, but the flatness after cutting is not good. There are cutting machines, thick plates, thin sheets can be cut out, but can only cut straight lines, encounter arc is helpless. In order to make the stainless steel sheet cut smoothly and in various shapes, plasma cutting is used. Therefore, blanking is usually manually combined with the machine. Stainless steel sculpture – generally need 304 or 201 stainless steel plate, some customers with higher requirements will also use 316 plates.

4.Manual forging.

After the stainless steel sculpture is blanked, the stainless steel plate should be brought to the mold for beating. The workers will cut the material according to the different shapes of the parts of the model. According to its ups and downs, deliberately beat. Any tangible solid object can be struck, and then the struck stainless steel plate is brought to the mold. By comparison, the shape is considered correct and can be fully connected to the model. These scattered steel and stainless steel plates are then welded from top to bottom, and each connected part must be adjusted to the mold. The texture effect on the surface of each stainless steel plate must remain the same, and must be forged at the same time when forming. It can also be forged before cutting.

5.Sculpture molding: welding, grinding,painting

After correctly forging stainless steel sculptures, they should be welded together according to engineering requirements. In stainless steel polishing, the welding line and excess parts of the workpiece are first polished with a grinding wheel, and then the workpiece is polished with a soft wheel. When polishing, the workpiece is coated with polishing paste to increase lubrication, so that the workpiece is more brightly polished, so as to give people a good visual beauty.Color according to customer needs, generally through spraying and electroplating process for stainless steel sculpture color treatment.
